If you follow me on Instagram, you know I am having a deep fangirl session over Cornelius Minor's book "We Got This: Equity, Access, and the Quest to Be Who Our Students Need Us to Be". I am LOVING this book and his message AND I got to hear Mr. Minor speak in my hometown at a literacy conference! And no, I wasn't calm and collected when I met him.

Cornelius Minor and a fangirl.

This week's episode looks at this idea that Minor discusses in his book and touched on in his keynote about the problematic notion that teachers are heroes. Please, do yourself a favor and read the book, find a way to listen to this man speak, and then get started changing the way you teach to be more equitable, accessible, and culturally responsive.

Where to find the book: Through the Publisher. Through Amazon.

Where to find his downloadable, companion resources (yes, you read that right!): Companion Resources

Where to find him: You can connect with him on his website, Kass and Corn, or on Twitter at @MisterMinor

One final note: I'm not connected to Mr. Minor or Heinemann publishing in any way. I bought the book, paid for my ticket to the conference, and wrote all of my own words (that were not cited) of this post and podcast. I am almost embarrassed of how much of a fan I am, and that is the real reason for writing this post. I'm a fan of his work, his vision, his philosophy, his pedagogy, and his practical resources for teaching. But hey, if I got a free ticket to the next conference because of this podcast episode or blog post, I will not complain.
