Thanks for listening to the third episode of the iCRT Podcast about Personalized Learning. I hope you got inspired by some of the personalized learning tools and techniques you heard about in the podcast like I did when I was researching them. Some are tough to implement immediately, like passion-based learning, but some can be utilized right away, like offering choice and having more discussions with your students.

I first started really getting excited about personalized learning when I took a professional development class on it last year. I realized that I had been personalizing learning and using a lot of techniques under that umbrella, but didn't really see the bigger picture of what it could become. I thought personalizing learning was the big projects and activities I did within units that required a lot of time, energy, and out-of-school planning. When I took this class, I realized that personalizing learning does encompass those big ideas, but it is also small, daily routines and ways of checking for understanding or presenting projects or researching interesting topics that our students will benefit from just as much, if not more, than the large scale productions (which are super fun, though, too!).

Check out the podcast, the links below, and hit up the world-wide-web to do your own research on something that sparks your interest. Let me know what you choose!

Here are some educators and sites who specialize in helping teachers personalize learning in the classroom by offering great insight and ideas, resources, and even some (free) workshops online! I've included the articles and web links I mentioned in the podcast here as well!
